Esther Gim (she/hers) is the Managing Editor at Rewire News Group, overseeing the day-to-day publishing and reporting for the website. Prior to joining the organization, she was the senior copy editor and Sunday editor at Mic.com. She got her start at daily newspapers and has also been a full-time freelancer—copyediting, fact-checking, or contributing to outlets including Out, Detroit Metro Times, espnW, and the now-defunct Bitch and BuddyTV, among others.

Esther is on the AAJA-NY board, is an alum of the Poynter Women’s Leadership Academy for Women in Media, and volunteers with We Need Diverse Books, her neighborhood community garden, and more.
