Rommy Torrico
Rommy Torrico was a visual associate editor at Rewire News Group. They are a designer with passion and intention, authentically delivering striking, illustrative pieces that support messages of hope, resistance, and inspiration for new worlds. They began their work on digital graphics in 2012, initially collaborating with the Florida Immigrant Coalition, and have since expanded their list of partners to include the Amplifier Foundation, CultureStrike, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Netflix.
Over the years, Torrico’s work has been exhibited in California, New York, Washington, D.C, and throughout the Americas. Their work has also been included in several publications, most recently Queer and Trans Migrations: Detention, Deportation and Illegalization by Eithne Luibhéid and Karma R. Chávez, and Holy Troublemakers & Unconventional Saints by Daneen Akers.
A graduate of the University of Florida, with a bachelor’s in architectural design, Torrico was born in Iquique, Chile; raised in Naples, Florida; and is currently based out of NYC.
