Rita Martinez

National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health

Rita recently completed her second year at Stanford University. Having declared her major in Human Biology, she will be concentrating in Global Women’s Health, Philanthropy, and Social Justice. After interning with the San Francisco Organizing Project last summer, a faith-based community organizing group, Rita was inspired to continue her work within the public service sector in hopes of working towards positive social change. On campus, she is a member of the Chi Omega sorority and participates in various community service events, including fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Rita looks forward to studying Spanish culture and film in Madrid this coming fall. Rita is originally from Los Angeles; however, she currently lives in New York City (and her heart is in San Francisco). She spends her free time photographing interesting things in NYC, reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower, getting caught in the rain, and not sleeping enough.
