Isaiah Ndong
Dr. Isaiah Ndong, M.D., M.P.H., is Vice President for Programs at EngenderHealth. He is recognized for developing and leading integrated programs on family planning, reproductive health, HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other health issues and for introducing practical, low-cost quality improvement approaches that have become sustainable models in several African countries. He is highly experienced in providing training worldwide in programmatic and clinical reproductive health issues, such as clinic-based contraception, postabortion care, male-friendly services, STIs and sexuality, maternal health, quality improvement, and emergency obstetric care. Dr. Ndong is also an internationally recognized leader in the development of programs that increase men’s involvement in reproductive health.
Dr. Isaiah Ndong was previously the Director of the Action for West Africa Region-Reproductive Health (AWARE-RH) Project, a five-year collaborative initiative to improve reproductive and maternal and child health services across 18 countries in West Africa.
Prior to the launch of the AWARE-RH project, Dr. Ndong was EngenderHealth’s Regional Director for West Africa, a Senior Medical Associate, and Program Manager for Guinea and Senegal. He also served as a Divisional Chief of Service for Public Health and as a physician in Cameroon.
Dr. Ndong has a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon.
