Don Downing
Don is a Clinical Professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy in Seattle and Endowed Chair of the Institute for Innovative Pharmacy Practice at the University of Washington. He teaches students and practicing pharmacists in contraception, leadership and advocacy, law & ethics, medical devices, community health screening, global health, and pharmacy management.
His major practice and research interests have included the co-development of the nation’s first pharmacist-provided emergency contraception program, the first pharmacist-initiated on-going hormonal contraception services and first community pharmacist-administered immunization services. He has made over 400 presentations on reproductive health issues and compensation for pharmacy care services.
