Alison Ojanen-Goldsmith
Alison (Ali) Ojanen-Goldsmith is Founding Board President of Full Spectrum Doulas and serves as Core Organizer in Seattle. Full Spectrum Doulas provide nonjudgmental, compassionate and empowering doula support to people through the full spectrum of their reproductive and family planning experiences, including abortion, birth, adoption, surrogacy and unintentional pregnancy loss. She also provides guidance and technical assistance for similar advocacy efforts across the country. Additionally, she owns and operates Healthy Family, Healthy World and specializes in eco-healthy postpartum doula care, eco-healthy childcare and consulting for families on reducing toxic chemical exposure in their households.
Prior to moving to Seattle, she served as Programs and Policy Associate at Reproductive Health Technologies Project (RHTP) in Washington, DC and as a public policy researcher for NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin. She has over 10 years of community organizing and advocacy experience for a wide range of social and health justice issues, including environmental health, student labor rights and drug policy reform. She holds an MSW in Administration/Policy from the University of Washington where she is also pursuing a concurrent MPH degree. Her research and advocacy focus is people’s experiences with alternative methods of abortion care.
Alison is a member of the Society for Family Planning, Collaborative on Health and the Environment (CHE), Social Workers Stand Up, Students in Public Health Engaged in Reproductive Rights Efforts (SPHERE), NORML Women’s Alliance and the Re-formed Congregation of the Goddess International.
