Celebrating Recent Reproductive Justice Victories🎉

Let’s keep the positivity going
No matter what the Supreme Court decides this month, there are things to celebrate when it comes to reproductive and sexual health, rights, and justice. As the only national nonprofit newsroom focused on these issues, we know it’s easy to get bogged down by the constant onslaught of attacks on our rights. At Rewire News Group, we remain defiantly joyful in the face of so much chaos by acknowledging the good and celebrating when we can.
Here are some recent wins we’re celebrating:
The House of Representatives introduced legislation to protect birth control access.
The Allowing Greater Access to Safe and Effective Contraception Act would allow people to access birth control at a pharmacy without delay or issue, such as refusal or intimidation.
A federal judge blocked restrictions to medication abortion in North Carolina.
The judge ruled that any certified provider can prescribe the pills and that patients can take mifepristone at home without in-person appointments.
A proposed ballot measure to enshrine abortion rights in Missouri collected more than 380,000 signatures.
That’s more than double the number needed to add an amendment to the state’s ballot for the November elections that would legalize abortion up to the point of fetal viability.
It’s Pride Month! And we are celebrating beauty and joy in the LGBTQ+ communities.
A community library in Texas is combating book bans of queer literature.
Our Multimedia Content Specialist, Austen Risolvato, recently captured a stunning portrait series of drag queens in Atlanta that will be published next week.
These acts prove that people care about protecting our reproductive rights. Despite recent court rulings, we aren’t feeling defeated, and neither should you.
No other outlet is reporting on reproductive rights like we are. Help keep our in-depth, expert coverage free and accessible to everyone.
Thank you, and here’s to navigating what lies ahead, together,
