Fetal Homicide

Full Bill Text

SB 433 would amend current law to recognize a fetus as a separate victim when a crime has been committed against a pregnant person.

The bill defines “fetus” to mean:

[…]a developing human that has ended the embryonic period and thereafter continues to develop and mature until termination of the pregnancy or birth.

Any person convicted of any misdemeanor or felony in violation of this provision where a pregnant person is involved, the fetus would constitute a separate and distinct victim.
