HCR 84 is a concurrent resolution designating January 22—the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision—as the “Day of Tears” for a 10-year period beginning in 2020.

The resolution claims that since the passing of Roe v. Wade, “more than 58 million unborn children have perished.”

The resolution proposes the following:

That the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby designate January 22 as the Day of Tears and encourage the citizens of the Lone Star State to lower their flags to half-staff on that day.
