Full Bill Text

HB 1158 would have created a prenatal care program and health assistance program under Title XXI of the Social Security Act solely to provide for the medical care of unborn children whose mothers are ineligible for coverage under Title XIX of the Social Security Act based on their citizenship status.

The prenatal medical services offered under the program do not include abortion unless one is needed due to a medical emergency.

HB 1158 passed the House but died in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
