Oklahoma Bill Amending Heartbeat Informed Consent Act (SB 606)
This law was last updated on Feb 9, 2015
SB 606 would amend Oklahoma’s Heartbeat Informed Consent Act. The bill would require a person who intends to perform an abortion on a pregnant woman to determine if there is the presence of a fetal heartbeat according to standard medical practice.
No later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the performance of the intended abortion, the abortion provider would have to inform the pregnant woman that the “unborn human individual” has a heartbeat and inform her of the statistical probability of bringing the “unborn human individual” to term. The pregnant woman would be required to sign a form acknowledging that she has received the information.
