LB 59 would require the Department of Health and Human Services to develop and maintain an internet webpage to provide information for women seeking abortion services. The website would need to include video of ultrasound images, using the best available ultrasound technology, of an “unborn child” at two-week gestational increments.
The bill would also require health-care facilities that provide abortions and have a website to include a direct link to the website of the Department of Health and Human Services. The link would read:
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services maintains a web page containing objective, nonjudgemental, scientifically accurate information about the development of the unborn child, and videos of ultrasound images of the unborn child at various stages of development. The webpage also has information on alternatives to abortion and a comprehensive list on where to obtain and ultrasound free of charge. The webpage can be reached by clicking here.
