Arizona Bill Excluding Planned Parenthood from Medicaid (HB 2599)
This law was last updated on Oct 28, 2016
HB 2599 would allow the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System to exclude any organization that fails “to segregate taxpayer dollars from abortions.” This would include the use of taxpayer dollars for any overhead expenses attributable to abortions.
This bill is the latest attempt by Arizona state lawmakers to defund Planned Parenthood.
Approved by Gov. Ducey (R) on May 17, 2016.
The state agreed to not enforce the law until final rules are in place outlining how the law would work.
