SB 321 would have prohibited all health insurance plans offered in the state from providing coverage for “elective abortion” except through purchase of an optional rider which the policyholder must pay for with an additional premium.
The bill defines “elective abortion” as an abortion for any other reason other than a spontaneous abortion or to prevent the death of the female upon whom the abortion is performed.
STATUS
Died in Senate Health Committee.
