Susan Buttenwieser is the author of the novel, Junction of Earth and Sky, forthcoming from Manilla Press (UK) and the short story collection, We Were Lucky With the Rain. Her writing has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and appeared in Women’s Media Center, LGBTQ Nation, Pangyrus, City Limits, Brooklyn Rail and other publications. She has taught creative writing in to middle-schoolers in the Bronx and Queens, in homeless shelters, juvenile detention facilities, at a women’s maximum-security prison and to older adults.
