Drew De Los Reyes has over 14 years experience in the STD/HIV field, with 12 of those years concentrated in the HIV prevention and testing arena. Currently, he is a CDC Public Health Advisor assigned as the Assistant Program Manager/Special Projects for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, STD Control Program where his program recently launched the “Freedom Condom” – a branded condom for the City of Philadelphia. Drew is also an Associate Member of the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD). Previously, he was the Project Director for the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation’s HIV Testing Expansion Initiative where he directed the increase of HIV testing in clinical settings from 96,000 per year to over 200,000 unique HIV tests in just two years. He has presented at local, state, national, and international forums on HIV outreach, recruitment, testing, and linkage to care strategies. Drew has conducted trainings and presentations on best practices for HIV testing programs nationally and internationally and has authored several HIV testing policies and procedures manuals and quality assurance guidelines which have been used by the New York State AIDS Institute and Centers for Disease Control as model documents. He also held the position of Assistant Director at the David Geffen Center at Gay Men’s Health Crisis, a New York City AIDS service organization, where he directed their internationally recognized HIV testing program and worked with the University of Southern California on the CDC’s Collaborative Injection Drug Users Study, targeting homeless adolescents at risk for HIV in Los Angeles. He is a proud veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps where he was honorably discharged after serving combat tours during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
