A new proposal, tucked away in President Trump's 2019 budget request, could mean people in ICE detention who want abortion care may not be able to get it, even if they pay for it themselves.
“Dismantling services that keep millions of Americans healthy reveals this administration’s shameful priorities,” Dr. Willie Parker, an abortion provider and board chair of Physicians for Reproductive Health, said in response to the budget proposal.
Anti-choice protesters used “graphic signs” to block the sidewalk outside Choices Women’s Medical Center in Queens, New York, “screamed very loudly,” and often “walked in front of patients to slow them down.”
"If Capital Care closes, patients would be forced to travel out-of-state or to cities like Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland," said Kristin Hady, a Capital Care volunteer clinic escort coordinator.
