H Kapp-Klote is finishing up the Emerson Hunger Fellowship, an anti-oppression leadership development program, and has written for Youngist, PolicyMic, and The Toast. They are a Kansas native who has been, at various times, an organizer, a writer, a policy advocate, and an intern.
