Alyson Hyman
Alyson Hyman has more than 25 years of experience across more than 15 countries forging innovative partnerships with governments, teaching institutions, donors, nonprofit and community-based organizations; designing strategic programs; facilitating behavior change; synthesizing complex situations; problem-solving; and managing projects in a variety of global settings. Alyson worked for many years at Ipas, an international nongovernmental organization dedicated to women’s reproductive health and rights, where her leadership spanned strategic planning and design to project management, technical assistance, facilitation and training, institution-building, and community-based approaches with particular expertise in medical abortion. She speaks rusty, conversational Vietnamese, and her passion is helping people develop skills in understanding and appreciating each other better across cultural differences. Alyson is a native North Carolinian who earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and master’s degree in public health from UNC-Chapel Hill.
