Florida Introduces 20 Week Abortion Ban
The state prepares to vote on a so-called "fetal pain" ban.
The state of Florida was one of the few predominately anti-choice states not to pass a 20 week ban on abortion. But now, the state is playing catch up.
Via the Florida Independent:
Florida Rep. Daniel Davis, R-Jacksonville, has introduced a bill for the upcoming legislative session that would outlaw abortions after 20 weeks.
The measure is similar to a handful of bills seen last year in legislatures across the country: so-called “fetal pain” bills that have been found to be “neither scientifically nor constitutionally sound” by researchers.
Florida passed dozens of anti-abortion bills last legislative session. It looks like they’ve managed to somehow find the few that they missed the last go around.
