After four years of leading Rewire News Group, Galina Espinoza has decided to step down as President and Editor in Chief. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and vision, which has helped shape this publication into the powerful resource it is today in the reproductive rights, health, and justice space. I speak on behalf of the full board of directors and staff in sharing our utmost thanks to Galina for her leadership and excitement for her next chapter.

While we embark on a search for Rewire News Group’s next leader, I am pleased to announce that board member Kate Bernyk will step in as interim president, assuming interim administrative and operations leadership, and Executive Editor Jessica Mason Pieklo will assume oversight of editorial and content strategy.

Change can bring new and exciting opportunities for the future of Rewire News Group, but I can confidently say what will always remain is the expert analysis and in-depth reporting you have come to rely on, especially in a year as important as this one. From the upcoming Supreme Court cases to abortion initiatives on the November ballots—Rewire News Group will be here for you.

Thank you for being a part of our community. We can’t wait to build this next chapter with all of you.
