Kyl Has Planned Parenthood Whopper Removed From the Congressional Record

The Senator can strike his "not a factual statement" from the official record, but the google will always remember.

When Arizona Senator Jon Kyl declared that 90 percent of Planned Parenthood’s funding was for abortion services, he claims he wasn’t intending it to be a “factual statement.”  Now, it seems he doesn’t want it to be a permanent statement, either.

He’s had it stripped from the official Congressional transcript.

Via Time Magazine:

Clearly embarrassed by his misspeak, Kyl made use of a provision to strike the statement from the official Congressional Record. The Library of Congress notes that senators are allowed to “edit the transcript of their floor remarks before publication in the daily record or the permanent record.”

As it reads in print, the remark has been clarified to erase the mention of any numbers. It reads: “If you want an abortion you go to Planned Parenthood and that is what Planned Parenthood does.” Thank you for the factual statement, Senator Kyl.

Congressional do-overs.  If only it were that easy.
