Morning Roundup: Santorum Says Obama Should be Anti-choice Because He’s Black

Santorum plays the race card with Obama, a third-gender option in the Nepali census, Planned Parenthood returns to San Francisco, and Mother Jones looks at abortion-breast cancer lies.
- Rick Santorum, uber-conservative anti-choice former Senator from Pennsylvania who REALLY wants to be president, questioned why President Obama supports abortion rights, considering the fact that he’s black. “Well if that human life is not a person then I find it almost remarkable for a black man to say ‘now we are going to decide who are people and who are not people.”
- Those who identify as neither male nor female will have a “third gender” box to check in the upcoming Nepali census. The country has made a substantial effort towards equal treatment of LGBTQ citizens since a Supreme Court ruling two years ago guaranteeing their rights. Campus Progress reports on similar efforts in the United States during the recent census.
- Planned Parenthood has returned to the San Francisco area. The national organization cut ties with Planned Parenthood Golden Gate back in September. Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific has taken over part of the territory, and will begin seeing patients next week.
- Mother Jones looks into the abortion-breast cancer lies spread by anti-choice organizations, who continue to tell untruths despite the mountains of evidence.
