Partnerships Extend Rewire’s Reach

New partnerships and a steadily growing community extend progressive ideas about sexual and reproductive health further, thanks to you!

We like to update our growing community of progressive people seeking sexual and reproductive health and freedom on Rewire's progress, and to say thanks!

What you see on our site is just the beginning of our efforts to move expert voices, breaking news, features and thought provoking commentary into the dynamic world of online publishing.

  • Rewire content is now regularly featured on Google News. As we move more into news gathering and reporting, that will increase.
  • Rewire is partnering with the Center for Independent Media's New Journalist Program and will feature the work of three Rewire Fellows reporting on state and regional issues, as well as Presidential primary politics. Based in Iowa, Colorado and Minnesota, these reporters integrate local and national news for more complete understanding of how policies affect people.
  • Rewire is partnering with One World.net to extend the reach of our Global Perspectives writers based around the world, as well as extend our reach through this partnership to Yahoo News.
  • Rewire is partnering with the Women Deliver Conference this Fall in the United Kingdom, providing coverage leading up to and live from an important global gathering on safe motherhood and maternal health.
  • Rewire content has been picked up by numerous mainstream publications, including The New York Times, and The Nation, as well as online publications such as AlterNet, Salon, and Slate.
  • Rewire regularly posts diaries and contributes content that originates on our site to other online publications following a broader range of political issues such as Political Cortex and Daily Kos. We are routinely picked up by a growing number of bloggers around the world.
  • Rewire distributes daily email summaries or targeted news feeds, and our weekly eNews Update (sign up in the upper right corner of front page, as thousands have!). Monthly Memos we publish highlight the best of our stories to a couple thousand more traditional opinion leaders.

What started as a niche publication read by leaders in advocacy, philanthropy, and media interested in sexual and reproductive health is steadily building a broad community. The number of readers coming to our site on a weekly basis has doubled this quarter, reaching 5,000 consistently (with 10 days to drive that higher!), and traffic spikes during busy weeks doubling or tripling that. Each month we add more regular new community members.

With our partnerships, information products and aggressive distribution of content to other sites, we ensure progressive voices put a Reality Check on the misinformation touted by those who limit women's health decisions, ignore proven public health strategies and promote ideology over evidence. We must be having some impact, the opposition cite us more frequently too—they have to get the facts someplace!

Thanks for continuing to add your voice to our still budding efforts. We'll keep building and reaching out, engaging more people in the Culture of Peace that progressives are winning!
