It’s been one week since news broke that the Supreme Court is likely planning to overturn Roe v. Wade. In a leaked draft of the opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization penned by Justice Samuel Alito, the Court plans to not only uphold Mississippi’s 15-week ban but also overturn Roe and Planned Parenthood v. Casey—the two fundamental Supreme Court cases that create the foundation for abortion access nationwide.

In a new episode of Boom! Lawyered, co-hosts Jessica Mason Pieklo and Imani Gandy break down what’s happened since Politico published the opinion, including which lawmakers have risen to the occasion, and which didn’t. They also chat about how the White House’s response measures up to the gravity of the moment. And they’ll hit on what comes next: which states are poised to defend access moving forward and what the decision will mean for lawmakers eager to roll back abortion rights even more.
