HB 302 would create a criminal penalty for physicians who fail to provide patients with specified information before certain nonemergency abortion procedures.
The bill would make it a misdemeanor—punishable by up to six months in prison and/or a fine of up to $750.00—to fail to inform patients of the opportunity to view an active ultrasound of the fetus and listen to any audible heartbeat.
