HB 2484 would prohibit all qualified health plans offered through an exchange established in the state from including elective abortion coverage.
Elective abortion exceptions would be provided for certain pregnancies that threaten the life of the pregnant individual.
The bill provides that an individual may purchase optional supplemental coverage for elective abortions for which there is paid a separate premium in the health insurance market outside of the exchange.
The bill goes on to detail the steps an issuer of any health plan providing elective abortion coverage must take when providing such coverage.
