SB 6449 would have prohibited licensed health care providers from performing sexual orientation change efforts on patients under age eighteen.
“Sexual change efforts” include “efforts to change behaviors or gender expressions, or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attractions of feelings towards individuals of the same sex.” These efforts would include, among others, reparative therapy or conversion therapy.
