Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers

Full Bill Text

SB 6071 would require abortion facilities to publicize a certain notice in English, Spanish, and additional languages required for public notice for health facilities in each county.

The notice would state the following:

“This facility does not meet the health standards of an outpatient surgery center.”

The notice would be required to be posted on-site at the facility and in all print and digital advertising, including internet websites.

Notices on-site at the facility must:

  • Be written in a minimum of 48-point font and printed on at least 11.7 inch by 16.5 inch size paper;
  • Be posted in a location and manner easy to read;
  • Be posted at the entrance of the facility and at least one other location where patients wait; and
  • Not contain any other statements or markings.

The bill defines “abortion facilities” to mean any place where abortions are performed, except state licensed medical facilities, including hospitals and ambulatory surgical facilities.
