SB 1799 would allow a person to decline to buy, sell, offer, or provide a good or service; enter a contract; or hire a person due to that person’s sincerely held religious belief about marriage as only the union of one man and one woman.
The bill would prohibit the government from taking adverse action against a person on the basis of that person’s sincerely held religious belief about marriage as only the union of one man and one woman.
A person that faces adverse action from the government may assert a claim or defense in an administrative or judicial proceeding and obtain compensatory damages, injunctive relief, declaratory relief, or any other appropriate relief against the government agency.
