Full Bill Text
HB 3107 would require hospitals and other health-care facilities to provide written notice to each physician, nurse, staff member, or employee of the hospital or facility that they have the right to object to participating in an abortion.
The notice should also explain that the hospital or facility is prohibited from discriminating against the individual for refusing to perform or participate in an abortion procedure, and that the individual may be entitled to a remedy or certain relief for any violation.
Current state law allows a physician, nurse, staff member, or employee of a hospital or other health-care facility who objects to directly or indirectly performing or participating in an abortion procedure to refuse to participate in the procedure. This bill would require hospitals and other health-care facilities to provide notice of this right to their staff.
