HB 2553 would permit a private business owner to refuse to provide goods or services to any person based on a sincerely held religious belief or on conscientious grounds.
The bill prohibits a private business owner from being compelled to provide goods or services in violation of their sincerely held “religious or personal” beliefs. Additionally, a private business owner could not be held liable for refusing to provide goods or services based on their beliefs.
