SB 1985 would amend reporting requirements for physicians performing abortions in the state of Tennessee.
This bill would require abortion reports to be sent to the commissioner of health and the district attorney general of the district in which the abortion is performed. Any physician or facility who fails to do so would be subject to a $500 civil penalty and a possible suspended license for up to thirty days.
Each report would need to include the following information:
The report should not include any identifying information of the woman seeking an abortion. Rather, they should be assigned a unique identifying number.
