SJR 70 encourages the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Education Association to pass a resolution calling for the repeal of National Education Association Resolution I-17 at the National Education Association 2017 Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly.
SJR 70 further encourages the Tennessee Education Association to send delegates to the National Education Association 2017 Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly that are dedicated to repealing National Education Association Resolution I-17.
The resolution seeks to encourage such a repeal due to the fact that the National Education Association (NEA) advocates for the protection of abortion rights.
