Full Bill Text
H.R 489 would require states to report information on Medicaid payments to abortion providers.
The bill would require each state that makes a Medicaid payment from federal funds to submit to the Secretary a report on all such payments, and publish the report on a public Internet website of the state.
The report should include the following information for each payment:
- The amount of the payment;
- The purposes for which the payment was made;
- A comparison of the amount with the amount of any such payment to the provider involved in any prior fiscal year; and
- The number of abortions performed during the fiscal year by the provider involved.
The Secretary would then be required to submit to Congress, and publish on a public Internet website of the Department of Health and Human Services, a report that contains all the submitted reports from the year, along with a summary.
