SCR 3 is a concurrent resolution committing the legislature and urging the governor, the supreme court, and the attorney general to secure the blessings of life and liberty for South Dakota’s posterity.
Specifically, the legislature:
[…] commits to providing all pre-born children their God-given right to exist and commits to appropriate protections by the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution, and emphatically urges the South Dakota Supreme Court, the Governor of South Dakota, the Attorney General of South Dakota, and the United States Supreme Court to take all actions necessary to do so.

Adopted in the senate on January 22, 2018, by a 29-4 vote.
Adopted in the house on February 13, 2018, by a 61-4 vote.
Senate concurred in amendments on February 15, 2018, by a 27-2 vote.
