H 4833 would make it a criminal act to perform an abortion during any trimester if the sole reason for the abortion is due to the existence of a fetal anomaly.
The bill would amend all statutes related to the “South Carolina Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” to eliminate the fetal anomaly exception to the prohibition of abortions when the probable post-fertilization age of a fetus is 20 weeks or more.
