H 7735 would make the practice of aiding a minor in the process of getting an abortion a civil and criminal offense..
Current state law requires a minor seeking an abortion to provide informed consent, along with the consent of one parent or guardian, or a court order.
The bill would prohibit a person from intentionally causing, aiding, or assisting a minor in obtaining an abortion without the consents required by law.
Any person except for a minor who violates this provision would be civilly liable to the minor and to the person or persons required to give the consent.
Any person who knowingly transports a minor across a state line with the intent of obtaining an abortion without the consent or consents required by law would be guilty of a felony and be subject to imprisonment for up to five years, and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
