Full Bill Text
S 2218 adds as criminal offenses in Rhode Island, the following: (1) murder of an “unborn child”; (2) voluntary manslaughter of an “unborn child”; (3) involuntary manslaughter of an “unborn child”; (4) battery of an “unborn child”; and (5) assault of an “unborn child.”
The bill defines “unborn child” to mean “the unborn offspring of a human being conceived, but not yet completely born.”
The bill states that legal abortion is an exception.

Companion bill to H 7206.
Similar to H 5104 (2013) and H 7052 (2014), and H 5052 (2015), all of which failed to pass.
