HB 5052 adds as criminal offenses in Rhode Island, the following: (1) murder of an unborn child; (2) voluntary manslaughter of an unborn child; (3) involuntary manslaughter of an unborn child; (4) battery of an unborn child; and (5) assault of an unborn child.
The bill defines “unborn child” to mean “the unborn offspring of a human being conceived, but not yet completely born.”
The bill states that legal abortion is an exception.

Similar to H 5104 (2013) and H 7052 (2014), both of which failed to pass.
