S 573 would require that for every health insurance plan or policy offered through the Rhode Island health benefits exchange, the exchange must offer individuals and small business employers purchasing coverage through the health benefit exchange the choice of purchasing and participating in at least one health plan that excludes coverage for induced abortions, except in cases where (1) the life of the mother would be endangered; or (2) the pregnancy resulted from rape, sexual assault, or incest.
S 573 would be applicable for health insurance plans or policies issued on or after January 1, 2016.

Companion bill to H 5784.
Similar to the hidden measure passed in the Rhode Island Appropriations Bill for 2016.
