S 2098 would require that for every health insurance plan offered through the Rhode Island health benefits exchange which includes coverage for abortion services, the exchange must also offer an alternative version of the program or plan which does not provide coverage for abortion services, except in cases where the life of the pregnant patient is in danger or the pregnancy resulted from rape, sexual assault, or incest.
STATUS
Similar to H 6300, H 6301, and S 1038, all of which failed to pass in 2015.
S 2098 differs slightly from earlier versions by requiring exceptions.
