Pennsylvania Resolution Condemning the Practice of Selectively Aborting Fetuses with Down Syndrome (SR 174)
This law was last updated on Nov 22, 2017
SR 174 condemns the practice of selectively aborting fetuses with Down syndrome, while equating such decisions with the practice of eugenics.
The resolution states:
Purposefully encouraging abortion and using other sterilization techniques to rid society of a class of individuals are heinous, immoral actions, essentially practicing eugenics.
The resolution further states that parents should not feel “pressured into aborting their children.”
