Full Bill Text
HB 3228 would revise the definition of “ambulatory surgical center” to include facilities operated substantially for the purpose of performing abortions.
A facility operates substantially for the purpose of performing abortions if:
- 10 or more abortions in any calendar month, or 100 abortions or more are performed per year o the premises;
- The facility holds itself out to the public as an abortion provider by any public means; or
- The facility has at the facility or on-call a physician licensed to perform abortions.
HB 3228 would also define “abortion” to include using or prescribing medicine or drug to terminate a pregnancy or using an instrument or device to terminate a pregnancy.
