Full Bill Text
SB 867 would prohibit the performance of abortion except when necessary to preserve the life of the pregnant person.
The bill would expand the definition of “unprofessional conduct” to include the performance of such an abortion.
Prohibition
The bill would amend state law regarding persons who may perform abortions to prohibit any person from performing or inducing an abortion. A physician who participates in the performance of an abortion that isn’t necessary to save the life of the patient would be prohibited from obtaining or renewing a state medical license.
The State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision would revoke the license of an allopathic physician performing an abortion in Oklahoma. The State Board of Osteopathic Examiners would revoke the license of an osteopathic physician performing an abortion in Oklahoma.
