Full Bill Text

Ohio law allows public and private hospitals to refuse to permit an abortion at their facilities. Additionally,  no person is required to perform or participate in medical procedures which result in abortion.

The refusal to participate or permit may not be a basis for civil liability, disciplinary action, or other recriminatory action.

The law, enacted in 1974, does not require refusing entities or individuals to provide notification or referrals to patients seeking abortion services.
