New Hampshire Bill Repealing Patient Safety Zone Law (HB 124)
This law was last updated on Aug 30, 2019
HB 124 would repeal the patient safety zone law—passed in 2014—which allows for a 25-foot buffer zone around clinics that provide abortion services to protect patients from anti-choice activity.
The bill claims the statute would cause the state to expend considerable sums defending a law which the U.S. Supreme Court may find unconstitutional and which “has served no public purpose.”
Repeals SB 319, which was signed into law in 2014.
12/28/18 – Introduced.
1/15/19 – state House Judiciary Committee made a 14-4 vote recommendation against the bill.
