Missouri Reporting Requirements Bill (HB 565)
This law was last updated on Jul 6, 2017
HB 565 would amend current law regarding the requirements for reporting abortions.
The bill would require the attending physician to include the following on all abortion reports:
- Information required by the United States Standard Report of Induced Termination of Pregnancy that contains instructions for persons with the responsibilities of completing and filing reports on induced abortions;
- Information regarding the type of abortion procedure used and any drugs that were taken; and
- The reason the pregnant patient sought the abortion if the information was provided by the patient.
The bill would require additional information to be collected and evaluated for the annual abortion report published by the department, including data from abortions performed or induced and post-abortion care provided, as well as gestational age, by weekly increments, at which abortions were performed or induced. Any information that would allow the public to identify a specific patient would need to be excluded.
Similar to SB 318, which failed to pass in 2013.
