Missouri Bill Prohibiting Use of Public Funds for Abortion (HB 2247)
This law was last updated on Jun 28, 2016
HB 2247 would prohibit the use of any public funds or governmental economic incentives for projects involving abortion services, human cloning, or prohibited human research even though state and federal law already prohibits it.
A research project that receives public funds or governmental economic incentives must keep financial records that show strict compliance with this provision.
Any taxpayer or political subdivision of Missouri will have standing to bring suit against the state and any recipient of public funds who is involved in abortion services, human cloning, or prohibited human research.
Similar to HB 2072, which failed to pass in 2014.
