HB 1307 increases the minimum waiting period before a woman can have an abortion from 24 hours to 72 hours. The bill contains no exception for rape or incest.
STATUS
After the law was initially passed by the Missouri legislature, Gov. Nixon vetoed the legislation, criticizing it for being “extreme and disrespectful.”(Source.) On September 10, 2014 the legislature overrode Gov. Nixon’s veto. The law went into effect on October 10, 2014.
